During my years in management consulting, I was seen as a “high performer”. Even in tough, male-dominated environments I have known how to speak up and gain the influence I wanted. That was never the problem.
My problem was that I kept doing what I thought I ‘should’ do, instead of trusting my instincts to lead the way I knew was best.
Like in 2017, when I was entrusted with leading a complex, multi-national project including a team of talented colleagues. That sounds super exciting, you might think. No, not for me. I didn’t feel even a tiny bit of excitement.
I ended up saying yes. Soon after, my sky-high expectations on myself catapulted me home on my couch in my small apartment in Copenhagen. Here, I spent 3 months recovering from my burn-out.
Deep down I knew I should have said no. But I thought I was supposed to be happy about the promotion. This was a turning point. I realized that my health and well-being not only are affected by the world outside of me, but also very much from what’s going inside of me.
Soon, I discovered coaching where I could use my experiences to help others navigate their careers.
As a mother of two, I know the struggle of trying to ‘do it all’ and the daily choices between career and family. I’m here to tell you that it is possible to have both. But not without some changes to how you currently operate.
In my work I support women in leadership roles in one-on-one coaching. I combine cognitive coaching, adult development theory, and somatic practices tailored to help women redefine leadership and motherhood on their terms.
If you’re ready to redefine leadership and grow your influence while also being a present mom, let’s talk.
